Bikery
The Bikery is a two tiered program that includes:

1) BIKE REPAIR SHOP
2) JUNIOR COMPETITIVE RACING TEAM (ages 14 to 19 years)

Bike Repair Shop and ASB CLUB, Wa-Hi
Since the fall of 2008, in cooperation with Walla Walla High School, CCY has hosted an after-school bike repair club. Rebecca Jensen, a certified bike mechanic through the United Bicycle Institute in Ashland, OR, leads this new ASB club at Wa-Hi through hands-on repair workshops which will end with the donation of "like new" bikes to students in need. The club will also sell refurbished bikes as needed to pay for the club's expenses. Bike parts and tools are not cheap!

Where do the bikes come from?
A special thank you goes to the Blue Mountain Community Foundation for providing the necessary funding for this program in 2007 and to the City of Walla Walla and the Police Department for making possible the donation of abandoned bicycles to the repair club.

If YOU or someone you know has a extra bike in the garage that needs a good home, consider donating it to the CCY bikery. Your donation is tax deductible!

Junior Bike Racing Team
The junior race team is supported by Sapolil CellarsJamis BicyclesWillis & Toews, Best Pest Control and Allegro Cyclery.

The team enjoys two seasons: cyclocross in the fall and road racing in the spring. The junior race team is open for young men and women, ages 14 through 19. The team meets several times per week, though riders are expected to ride 3-5 times a week and meet other expectations (see Rider Contract). All riders receive a training plan and personal coaching. No experience is necessary. If you don't have or can't afford a racing bike, that's okay. Depending on our supply and your financial need, we may be able to get you one to ride!
